Probably it was your student life. Now you know that teaching is much more than reading out texts, dictating a passage or explaining a definition. As you are on the other side of the fence – as a teacher, you’re looking for ways to make your teaching enjoyable and effective so that the students do not get bored in your lessons. 21st century Innovative Teaching Strategies will be of much help to you.

Using innovative methods of teaching is a very important skill for teachers and educators. It is proved to enhance the student learning process. Even though it can seem a little demanding it’s for sure beneficial for the student-teacher environment. Developing new methods and strategies can improve students’ engagement and at the same time teachers’ motivation.

The course introduces the most relevant innovative teaching strategies and allows its participants to experience them and practice with European teachers and educators, while discussing and sharing best practices. These are for example: active learning, gamification, problem based learning (STEM), outdoor education, flipped classroom, new technologies, and many others.

Through this course participants will:

  • get acquainted with innovative and effective teaching methodologies and its benefits for the students’ learning process

  • learn how to adopt the new approaches into curricula

  • be able to integrate the technology and ICT tools into the classroom to make lessons more creative and engaging

  • get acquainted with the principles of problem-based learning (STEM) and project-based learning

  • learn how to encourage creativity through different outdoor activities

  • get to know mechanics and techniques of class gamification

  • practice the most relevant innovative strategies with other European teachers with the support of the course trainers

  • exchange experiences and ideas

  • improve language and communication skills

  • increase cultural awareness

Methods and tools:

  • Lectures and presentations, exercises, discussions, teamwork, group work, role-playing, study visits , interactive activities

  • 20/40 hours of classes spread over 5/10 course days,
