This course supports educators in mainstream, mixed-ability classrooms to implement differentiated strategies that meet the needs of all learners, including those with mild to moderate SEN and gifted students. Focusing on inclusive lesson planning, it shows how to adapt content, tasks & tools with evidence-based methods and practical technologies, helping every student thrive in the same classroom.
The course combines interactive workshops, hands-on exercises, and group activities to promote active learning and practical application. Participants engage in case studies, lesson planning, micro-teaching, and peer feedback sessions to develop and practice inclusive teaching strategies. Reflection circles and journaling encourage self-assessment and deeper understanding. Participants’ learning is assessed through active participation, completion of practical tasks, collaborative project work, and final presentations of lesson plans or action projects.
Participants will have access to a variety of resources to support inclusive teaching and differentiation. These include digital tools for lesson planning, collaboration, and student engagement such as Miro, Padlet, Mentimeter, and Canva. Case studies and practical examples from mainstream classrooms provide real-life context. Additional resources cover inclusive strategies, SEN support, differentiation methods, and mindfulness or stress-reduction techniques.
